Your poem warmed my heart to know that me a Haitian who is related to Africans are as beautiful as the night and stars.I can’t wait to tell my American adopted mother about this poem.I am going to say it in front of my classmate and I hope they will like it too.

Short but significantly powerful with its message for minority empowerment, in a few lines Mr. Hughes conveys a reassuring message to those who have been marginalized by the mainstream strata of society. I don't think this is so much Black lives matter as much as Black is Beautiful, the soul of a person is the most beautiful thing. I cant say much more, but this is a great piece to be read especially in divisive times.
