The ego and super ego have overcome the id and brought new realization that liberates and frees from the prison cell of self defeat. Such a powerful and profound philosophical and psychological perspective of freedom and victory. Excellently expressed my friend!
Life is in fact a journey of self-discovery. We must learn to distinguish between our real n false selves. A very philosophical work on duality of human personality.
Exactly, my dear Nosheen, on duality of our personality or multiplied duality amid the icons we have on the question who are we, is there one personality of ours or the idea others have or us ourselves have about ourselves is something even we can not keep the same in the different situations we are involve into....Thank you for the kind word.I do esteem so much your profound sensitive work.
A very deep introspection into oneself! We often wear masks to suit the situation. Finally it so happens that we are unable to distinguish between our real self and the one we put on. This is a peep into everyone's soul. This kind of occasional looking back is a way forward to self discovery. LOVELY POEM sir!
Many poets have written poems on ''wall''.The most famous onew I 've read is that of the great Cavagis, Walls, and the Dungeon by R.Tagore.I tried to see another kind of walls.Thank you, dear lady, for the kindness to comment it.
Ειθ' ως ηβώοιμι, βίη δε μοι έμπεδος είη.A verse from Odyssee, =I wish I were once again young to have my strength in me.
'For each man sees his own life defaced and disfigured, as the life of man is not, to his imagination. Each man sees over his own experience a certain stain of error, whilst that of other men fair and ideal.' - -Emerson i think the me belongs to immensity, both darkness and brightness represent their own world that can provide us chances to explore the self. and as the human nature's vengeance, do you mean the endless and suffering journey of exploring the me? Anne
Vengeance here is life itself which punishes us when we not realize the reality which does not coincides with our imagination.//You are right to draw the conclusion above.
Aloha Dimitrios... IAM on this... I do have some minor skills in working within words in the English... and the 'nature' of human vengeance against one of its own is in itself an interesting subject... The angst of US is such a force... I can only imagine how force filled your position was... in dealing with that second unnatural self... The question being, why, is this self so alien? Allow me a few moments throughout this day and God willing I will reproduce this post and find what I may find within... All of the best from this life, to you, and all of your relations... I'm pleased to see , dear Michael, that the poem has provoked so interesting an analysis like the one you formulate here.Thank you so much.Sometimes we have not only one self but many.depending on the circumstances.A personality must not change ''self, according to circumstances.
Great poem. The path to self discovery goes deep and as we move forward we realize how much of our self is simply imposed upon us by others and often superficial. Thank you for sharing this thought provoking poem. This is the first time I read any of your poem. Will be back to read more.
Ιt would be very interesting to tell me how it happened and you saw the poem.Your generous wordsare flattering to me.Thank you so much.
Great poem of dealing with the reality of reality. Introspection.
'dealing with the reality of reality' Εxactly, Howard, even ourselves can not discern the reality between the two main realities the one percieved by ourselves and that pervieved by others[multireality].Thank you for the generous word.
Great inner self-realization and insight into the depths of one's personality and thoughts. Very illuminating and thoughtfully written with a third eye on the person within one's own being. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
Thank you so much for your kind word.Take into notice that the first famous poems about ''walls'' was that of R.Tagore 'Dungeon' and that of K.Cavafis 'Walls' translated into english by Edmond Keeley.Thank you again.
We have imprisoned ourselves in our own built walls buy a window is always open to peep outside the prison. The poet has intelligently and nicely peeped outside to discover his self image that can only be seen from the third eye. When a poet uses his third eye, it results in a thoughtful poem like this. It's a great work.
I have read Kavafy's - Walls - the soon I read your poem this morning. His poem is more succinct, while yours on the other side, delves deeper into retrospection, elaborating even further the philosophical idea behind it. A great poem!
Generous the words of your kindness. The thought was to trace the limits between objectivity and sujectivity, the problem of selfconsciousness.Does it depend only on the idea we have about ourselves or it is a consciousness made of the idea others have about us.....
Beautiful Dimitrios! I can relate whole-heartedly to your poem. I too, have be known to hide behind a mask of someone who I was not. Looking back, I sometimes regret it, and it is humorous at times. You captured so much soul in this one! I couldn't love it more!
Where are you Tim? Unfortunately, excuse me, I had not answer to your comment here.A generous word.Thank you.Any poem of yours for translation?
Very nice poem. Free verse is my favourite form o writing. This poem has many similarities with Cavafy's Walls.
Pleased to see that you found my poem ''nicely written''.Thank you so much.
One can compare my poem with that of K.Cavafy ''Walls'' or that of Tagore ''Dungeon''
thank you. often things happen we cannot express, and your poem sayys it for us i was sure for my kind intentions and had never hoped to be mistaken
Thank you, dear, for having the kindness to share it and find in it something that moved you too.
