I took a sacred oath that day
Standing looking straight ahead I say
And it seemed so crystal clear
Something to hold onto and dear
In those days the bible spoke so true
And the oath was a sacred thing to do
But now oaths seem out of date
And things are left to fate
I wonder if there is a need to say
That society has lost its way
Where once we all pulled together
Now what's good for me is reason like no other.

Very well put and said. Society is at risk the way behaviors are accepted these days.
