My name is Protest
I'm the lifeblood of activism
The acid test for solidarity
The raucous echo of the oppressed
I vegetate on the soils of injustice
Conspicuous in clamours for human rights
United we rock, divided we're mute
My breath oozes redress
My sweat drips of equity
I'm the river; whose tide surges
against the banks of tort
From the East, West, North & South
I'm Proof that power resides in the street
A kindred to revolution, I am.
