My Mug-Shot & Mug Poem by Sandra Black

My Mug-Shot & Mug

Rating: 5.0

My mug-shot & mug

Life is a battle between the maker and his creation.
I drink each day from it in elation

All is revealed in one mugshot
All is revealed in that one mug
A face as bright as the morning sun

All is revealed in that one mugshot
One can come out looking all smug
Or else begin to run

Run away from mirrors
Run away from lenses
Run away cause they catch your soul
Freeze it in time n leave a gaping hole

My mug reveals all to the world
I dare not show it
I dare not be bold
A mask I shall wear and sit

A scarf orglasses I wear each time
Behind it I hide my every crime
Never a one to lose the rhyme

I shall reveal my true face when
My dearest friend does it again
So I hide my mug & mug shot

The face that glows
And reveals all secret spots

My mug -shot & mug
