All for nothing in return, but for the sake of love alone You are the Goddess of love, you are the idol of selflessness You are the embodiment of sacrifice and service You are the cause of my life and lively existence..

Happy birthday, but at the same time, birthday, is also the mother's suffering.

Thank you very much poet Lou Zhihai for reading the poem. What you said is true. Behind every happy birthday a mother's sufferings are to be remembered.

Thanks a lot dear RMJ. She could have been proud of me had she been alive. I was an unfortunate baby. It was my grandma who brought me up on my mother's demise

i esp. like: " to regain my lost charm" . you charmer! last line of stanza 4: missing a word? " to" ? I'm SURE you gave her something in return! a full diaper/nappy at least! i wonder where you may see her again to be also on earth. i'd use Earth. to MyPoemList bri :)
