My Mirror Poem by Nancy Trembley

My Mirror

Why do you hurt me every time we meet?
The things you say
Are so hurtful and detrimental.
I try so hard to be understanding.
You're so abusive
So, demanding.
You make me promises
That always fall through.
Your honesty is awful
And mostly true.
Why do you hurt me so?
Why do I keep coming back?
I can't stop looking.
It's like a train wreck.
