My Looks, Hideous? Poem by Jodie Louise Pollock

My Looks, Hideous?

He stares,
He looks,
He pulls a face at my hideous looks,
He hates my smile,
He thinks im vile,
Am i really that bad?
Am i really that sad?

He sees my pain,
But he doesnt care,
He sees my scars,
But he judges,
Im ugly,
Worthless,
Pointless,
And a total waste of time.

Im a living nightmare,
I have no life worth living,
He sees me everyday,
But he just wishes to escape.

I wish he could feel,
The connection and longing i do,
I wish he could see the real me,
But he is too blind to notice,

Notice that behind the ugliness,
Behind the pain,
Behind my mask,
I just need love.
