My Lazy Self Poem by Doreenda Nikoi Kotei

My Lazy Self

I really don't want to get out of bed today!
Then I won't have to go brush my teeth nor take my shower,
Nor have to necessarily dress my bed nor lay my pillows straight,
Nor keep my windows open for fresh air nor clean my room,
Nor breakfast myself and get myself going anywhere!
All I just want to do is to laze myself in bed all day!

I just don't want to go out to school today!
Then I won't have to rush to catch the early morning bus,
Nor greet any teacher to present my homework,
Nor smile at anyone to share my snacks with,
Nor worry my head to answer any questions in class!
All I ever want to do is to preen myself in mirror all day!

I sincerely don't want to go grocery shopping today!
Then I won't have to spend a dime on anything,
Nor visit shop to shop looking for one particular brand,
Nor be in a long winding queue just waiting to be served!
All I'm interested in is to sit and watch TV all day!

I honestly don't want to go to work today!
Then I won't disturb my kind about what to wear,
Nor be concerned about my nosy, bossy boss,
Nor chase teammates on projects to meet tight deadlines!
All I ever dream of is to have leisure at the beach all day!

I seriously don't want to do the cooking today!
Then I won't stress my beautiful self washing dishes,
Nor wear aprons and funny mittens to look weird,
Nor pack up, clean up and empty the garbage bin,
Yes I know what to really do: click, order and eat all day!
