Aw expressed in soulful touching longing of a love gone to serve and war. A fabulous poem indeed. Kudos!

Timely with all the focus on war. Sad but real and your use of the medal and crucifix as metaphors for hope and magical guards against harm were well woven in. The poem as a whole was a metaphor for the lack of notice we get about war.

This poem of untold tragedy and calamity wrenches the heart of the reader. A sob comes out involuntarily.

A heart wrenching poem about the loneliness and pain that comes from a lover reporting from the jaws of war.
