My Home Town Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

My Home Town

My hometown
Monday,17th May 2021

My lovely home town
it remains beautifully known
for greenery around
the natural beauty is always found

what has happened to the people?
who were earning bread after making hard work and struggle
where are they today?
Why can't I find them on the way?

the streets remain deserted
as if self consent is inserted
no movement of living beings
as if to bring desert peace

I heard about deep penetration of
Corona to all the human beings
village people are facing daily deaths
where is the place to take a calm breath?

I saw no man in the street
where from I can see their smiling faces and greet
it has become a ghost town
the pandemic has become known

the same story is told
and retold
where human sufferings remain untold
where to seek new fold?
