My Home Appliances Senile, Like Me, They're Now Somewhat Frail And Fragile. Poem by Frank Yue

My Home Appliances Senile, Like Me, They're Now Somewhat Frail And Fragile.

My home appliances senile,
Like me, they're now somewhat frail and fragile.
Eighteen years ago
When I bought the apartment in the condo,
The four major appliances --
The fridge, range, washer and dryer --
Were compliments of the developer.

Yesterday, my trusted range refused to work suddenly;
My Superintendent true
Without much ado,
Quickly sent me
From YouTube videos three
On how to fix the control knob.
I became a handyman, inspired instantly.
After the loose screws tightening,
The range is working again!

I do like all my home appliances --
Like seniors, they need Tender Loving Care;
Now, they're quite sensitive to normal wear and tear.
So I've decided to half their workload,
In the hope that they'd accompany me
On my life-long journey.
