My Happiness As A Layman Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

My Happiness As A Layman

Rating: 4.7

I buy my happiness from the market
Taking a bag with little money I walk
Down the street like a rich man

I know I can eat as much as much as
An elephant does. But I eat like a
Sparrow. I do not buy what I like

I buy my happiness from the sellers
Of smile and good behavior. They
Treat me well as I am old and simple

I have got some money to spare for
The hungry sitting in front of temples
For I do not eat ice cream
Today as it is cold in my town

I am back at home. Light the gas and
Boil the water. Drinking warm water
Makes you slip and keeps you fit

I am happy with that
That type of life I have lived so far

Wonderful attributes of a good man. Simple living and kindness are the foundation of a great character. A wonderful poem with a meaningful message.
