My Gratitude Interlude Poem by Low Li Ling Jasmine

My Gratitude Interlude

In inky darkness of alcove
Hearth of roaring fire could not quell
My shiver from icy invasion
Only hone my heart to fighting edges

You, lull me to dropp my guard
In minimum of words,
Make me sum my quiet disquiet

Else,
A deadpan expression, the deathlike indifference
Shall replace that kaleidoscope of emotions
Incapable of smiling at life's genuine sweetness
Tales of woes my only proclamation

With me through the thicket of obstacles
You are my saviour
Else,
I would not be here
To still lament where is my one true love
And not forgetting to add 'If it's applicable'.
