My Fur Baby Eddie Poem by Lisa AT

My Fur Baby Eddie

A year has passed since you left my side,
Eddie, my beautiful tabby, with a heart that's departed.
You left an emptiness that echoes through my soul,
A void that gapes, a heart that's lost its goal.

Memories linger, treasured and true,
Pictures, videos, and a lock of fur, reminders of you.
I miss your footsteps, following me around,
Your cuddles, your purrs, your love, without a sound.

In my lap, you'd sleep, a bundle of delight,
I'd sit, frozen, hours passing, not wanting to disturb your night.
At the door, you'd wait, weaving through my legs, excited, and free,
Miaows and purrs, music to my heart, a symphony.

Though you're gone, your memory stays near,
A bittersweet reminder of joy, of love, of tears.
Eddie, my dear, I miss you more with each passing day,
But in my heart, your memory will forever stay.
