My Everytthing Poem by Raimi Babatunde

My Everytthing

Rating: 5.0

I might not be as fast as the Cheetah
Strong as the Buffalo
Beautifulas the Zebra and;
Gracious as the Peacock

I might not have the pink lips of the Bonobo Monkeys
Creatively wise as the crafty tortoise
Maybe you desire the dexterity of the Elephant

Let me just be your screen saver
Your play thing, your go to person
If you want a Giant like a Panda
I am sure I won't make the list

But, I am just a Poet with tender words and art
I am not competing with no one
I just want to write my way into your art
And paint you in poetic lines to make your buddies jealous

In this journey of love, love is not enough
You can love me and not be in love with me
If love is all it takes, there will be no need for medicals before nuptials
I just want to be your last goodnight and your first good morning

I will travel through the rain forest of South America
Swim with the Chinese Salamanders in green waters
Even if I have to pass through the deserts of Mongolia?
I will, and ink your name on every tree just to have you say "Yes"

Come with me on this journey of life, together forever
And together, let's fly like the Asian Goose to high altitudes
You are not just the oxygen I breathe, you are reason I was created
I might not have anything, but please, be my everything
Will you marry me?
