My Doggie
I have a pet, a smart little dachshund
Wherever I go, he follows me always
Watching him wag his tail is fun
Mischievous he is, his antics amaze
When I take him out, he runs and rolls
Truly a bouncing ball of energy
His funny tricks brighten my days
Between him and me is a rare synergy
With his bark, he scares all rodents away
As the stray cat comes in, he is brutally at war
With his paws he enjoys prodding the dying rat
When he is around, life is never a bore
From office, even if I come back late
He will be there to greet me, wagging his tail
He climbs over, licking me from foot to crown
In spontaneity of affection, he does not fail
Indeed he is my prized possession
In our house, he is allowed to roam free
His eyes speak a strange language of love
Bringing into our lives so much of glee
A dog is the most faithful animal. The more we love it the more it grows happy. Strange stories are there dogs risking their life for saving its master's life, especially of children
I love this poem! It brings back to my remembrance all the good dogs I've been blessed with, Life would have have some very drab holes in it had they not been there. And isn't it wonderful to have someone who is always so glad to see you! ! ! Top marks, my friend.
Dog is a faithful animal and it is more faithful than a man. It can save the life of its master. It provides glee. You are lucky that you have a pet that is smart little dachshund. He follows you where ever you go. His funny tricks brighten your days. A beautiful poem on doggie is amazingly delineated. Five stars.
Valsa, I’ve been thinking of you for a week or more as I’m home schooling my ten-year old granddaughter in English Language Arts, and in our current unit on poetry I introduced her to limericks (more on those later) . In this poem you remind me why I’m more a dog than a cat person. And what a beautiful garden in the picture! -Glen
