My Distant..Sir
Poem by doctor and poetess: dr. Hana al - Kadhi
Translation by: Freeyad Ibrahim
*******
Lonely..
I stand...
On the shore of my thoughts
The flow tosses to me
bulging bags
Loaded with seagulls
And news
Oh! My Far-off...
What occupies your thoughts?
May I know?
Could it be that you are feeling jealous...? !
Knowing that someone else at this moment
being close by me! !
I...
Verily..
I feel jealous of all women
Whose eyes are on you
I feel jealous of the words
That from the mouths flow
on you.... you know?
In my imaginations...
I have woven the threads of an evening...
Which will bring us together
Me..and you...
And the ships of my sailing
Solely.
Woe! to this ice that
Overwhelms your heart
Wholly,
Whereas I am
burning in my own fire
before you..
Do tell me then...
How much yearning
Will satisfy you?
And how much age
Shall I give you?
And what amount of words
Should I keep writing
On you? !
Tell me...
How much time do you need
In order to realize that I am,
despite
the long distances,
and despite the direction differences,
melting...in passionate love
for you..
And that I am
integrating... more and more
In you.
