i was in Nigeria for some time...what you have written is true...but this corruption is everywher except in a few developed countries where people are self-disciplined which help them to progress.............
Your verse is melting my heart. The deep anguish at the state of affairs is poignantly conveyed. I keep hearing things from some of my compatriots working in Nigeria. I pray for peace to return soonest in your country and make poets like you sing its glory as the best African nation.
I understand your anguish but remain convinced that Africa is the future of the world. Keep the warmth of human relationships and don't let anyone tell you that poverty means inferority. Keep your songs, your culture and everything that is fine and good in your culture and transmit it. The corrupt are everywhere, only some 'do' it better. Africans don't die alone unlike many in other countries. And keep writing!
This is so far the most heartfelt of your poems Hamid. I can really feel your anguish comming through. You have a natural gift in the way you are able to transcribe the deepest emotions into words we can all relate to.
this simply depicts a point.... that is really important but no one seems to understand.. great one
hamid you effortlessly draw the picture and leave us to marvel, great work.
indeed, greed is killing the floundering giant of Africa.....this is a simple cry poem of a concerned citizen...you expressed it really well, keep up the good work
wonderful feelings. coming from India, I can easily empathise with you. The greed of a few is a curse to many.
Blessed Lands...Tilled with honey and Plain oil... Why don't we leave the nation with their leaders and work our part which way to lift the nation....I can not blame God for making cry when i was born... Life continue when there's no existence Thanks for ur post on my poetries... Mike
A beautiful country beleagured by the greed of man. How much and for how long more can can we continue to decimate our planet both for its natural resources and with our senseless violence. The few voices that cry out; the few that lament are like the wind in a desert. Our planet is burning - Is anyone listening? The answer is written in huge letters across the sky. I, for one, definitely empathtise with you Hamid. Even though our voices are weak and do not carry far, we must continue to cry; continue to lament the fate of once beautiful planet being swallowed by the black hole of greed and destructiveness.
very moving. things will improve. trust and believe. great write.
