I remember going downstairs with my sister, a candle lighting our way, snow covered everything, even the gasometer looked nice we each had a pillow case filled with toys, nuts, oranges, and sweets, colouring in books, painting books, yes a magical time! regards Bob

Christmas is certainly a time for nostalgia - for remembering a time when the magic was 'real' and the bump at the end of the bed was to be looked forward to all year! . I remember too the family gathering at midday and the oldies smelling of mothballs with their wet kisses and their heavy legs. Turkey and bread sauce and plum pud and heat (Australia in the fifties, remember) . If we were lucky, we were taken down to the river for a swim while the grownups chatted and slept off their benedictine. You're right, it's all so slick now - and too much of everything! Fortunately our family makes a conscious decision to cut back - on all but the love, of course. Thanks for this wonderful reminder of the way it used to be. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

A very beautiful and nostalgic reflection about Christmas Bonnie. Like you, my favourite seasonal memories are sadly rooted in the past. Wonderful poem, love, Andrew x
