My Chicks Poem by Pleasant Dabbs

My Chicks

Last night it rained cats and dogs
On all the cows and all the hogs
All the creatures got together
And had a party in the weather
Except the chickens didn't come because of fog

The chickens finally got there really late (here's why...)
They had to wait until their boss opened the gate
They'd been cacklin' in the shed
While all their chicks were in bed plus...

The chicken's eggs were cracking up and making fun
They pulled a yoke on mom and dad and made them run
The hen's eyesight was shoddy
And the rooster he was odd, he
Couldn't run, he couldn't fly, they had to bum (a ride)
