My Burden
For,
it's not out of happiness
that renders the innocent silent
but, unadulterated fear, for
only the brave can comprehend it.
A slight of hand
A gesture with the wink of an eye,
instructs the path to be taken.
May cause us,
you,
I,
to abandon our fears in the face
of truth, or for us to endure
what has been set out in front of us
as fake human actions
can be my burden.
