I can fully empathise with this poem. The only thing you can feel is the eternal love for someone, which having been denied it, is the catalyst for your self harm (poignantly captured by the blood imagery) and the subsequently intended pain isn’t as heartbreaking as the reason for it. Therefore, this pre-eminent emotion is 'your blood'. I like this metaphor: ‘I'm in a fire cage’ which connects with the detrimentally violent acts you are committing and how this limitation prevents your freedom with reference to birds. Later, this notion is explicitly demonstrated by: ‘I have to escape from this prison’ possibly to show your growing desperation to break from your painfully dominant emotion. Well done.: D
