My Beauty Poem by Okoemu Okoemu Okoemu

My Beauty

My beauty in sight
Is her mother picture
Whose umbilical cord
On my Nigeria's earth
Who may from anywhere,
Come!
And if she be from east,
I will prefer her to be OLUCHI
Dark complexion and blond hair
Slim or busty, I will love and lust
What's in her, that moves you to love?
She is too dark, or too slim
She is not a fine girl
Yes, I am in love with her
For she is beautiful to me alone
In her, I see my beautiful lady
And if her first cry was upon soil in the west
I will prefer her to be BUKOLA
Maybe, you will say: she is not a fine girl
Because of this or that;
I love my beauty, her beauty is in her,
Expose to my view alone!
And if my beauty let her first cry upon soil of the north, I will prefer her to be Amina!
Maybe you will say, she is this or that and she is not a fine girl,
I will tell you, I see my beauty inside her
And if her first cry was upon south,
I will prefer her to be Omonze, or Ejiro, or Inioborg, or Cynthia...
And may you find fault in her,
To you I will say: my beauty is inside her.
She is for me
And her alone I will live with
And without her,
I stay without a woman
Till the last call.
