This poemmhas the best of intentions to say something meaningful and descriptive about music, But the subject is just too volatile: no sooner is a statement made, than it bounces off to some other topic, never settling down for one coherent viewpoint. But that OK because the message is that words cannot capture music in its net. Tones of music slip right through that net of words of language. I'm reminded of Mendelsohn's statement, MUSIC CAN'T BE PUT INTO WORDS NOT BECAUSE IT'S TOO VAGUE BUT BECAUSE IT'S TOO PRECISE
