Am I that insignificant?
Why she never looked my way?
I placed my heart on the petals
of the deep velvety roses.
And she is always
gazing at me,
loving me.

Yes, "I placed my heart on the petals" of her "deep velvety roses" and I can't stop looking at her either! Smiles!
This reminds me of that quote by Anais Nin 'We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are.' its our reflection of what we look. The Rose is only the rose because of what we impart it to be. Still we always find beauty, even if its our perceptions of it. Great continuation of pt 1
Lovely, enjoyable reading, Rose Marie. Thank you for sharing.
Your deep love of roses is so exquisitely expressed in this beautiful poem, Rose Marie. I've always wondered about the thorns. After all, are they not protecting the fragile nature of such precious beauty? !
With words that speak right to the heart! .. For me to try an say how magnificently beautiful my words would come out understated! ..
Absolutely Beautiful! ... This is so beautifully composed! ..
This poem as the painful and wanting sadness of a solitary rose. Just beautiful. And of long-lasting pose.
