Mummy Poem by Hell 'Farya

Mummy

She came to me,
Her face darkened.
'Is this what you do? '
She asked.

'What do I do? ' I asked myself,
But directed it at her.
It was an empty question,
Not that I was dumb.

She pointed behind me.
'Is that a woman? '
'Is this what you do? '
Then I realized my wrong.
I was struck with guilt.

I nearly couldn't face her.
'Mummy, ' I called to her.
I love to call her that,
And she would blush.

'I should have informed
you earlier, that I would
be bringing a woman, or
I should have asked her
to come pay obeisance early.'

So I scolded the one on my bed,
'Hurry now and cover yourself,
Say hello to the lady of the house.'
And she hurriedly did.

But mummy will not hear.
She barged out
Like she barged in.

And it left me wondering,
What was it that I did wrong?
