It is so sad to miss a loved pet....! This is a soulful cry for the cat to return. The refrain gives it a sad poignancy and a lyrical effect! . I too love cats, though not permitted to keep one as my husband has a bitter aversion to them.
Tom, Mr Purry has come back again, finally! Earlier today I wrote a poem called THE RETURN OF MR. PURRY, but I have not posted it yet. I have been reading all of your Purry poems to see if I could find a picture of him. Is that really a picture of him in the chair? I am going to assume that is him, and steal this picture to use with my poem. Let me know if the poem offends you, and I will remove it.
