I was sitting on my tall throne, towering over the court.
The palace rose from the ruins of my old house
Which stumbled on earth what seems like infinite time ago.
My palace gleamed dazzlingly under the radiant sky
The luster of gold seemed to swallow the sun.
Goblets carved of gold, curtains embroidered with gold.
All of the palace was gold, everything I know was gold.
I was sick of everything I saw.
This gold, once brought me endless joy and happiness
Now I was lost, lost in the evil made by my own hands
Every day, I have servants to serve me
But I yearned nothing but my wife's delicious dinner
Only smock filled the hollow chest of mine
Opening the window, a gentle breeze brushed my cheeks
Missed her sweet words that hooked my soul
To ease the longing that won't fade away
Walking alone to the forest, a flock of birds flew away
If only I can go back, but it's too late, it's fate.
A still lake appeared in front of me, looming eerily
A gust of wind whimpered around my ears
There isn't anything I love left in this world
Without hesitation, I jumped beneath the cluster of dazzling stars
Didn't struggle, closed my eyes letting the freezing water swallow me
Everything became still, and I was trapped forever in the pond of gold.
