Moving Forward Poem by Lisa AT

Moving Forward

Rating: 5.0

I've told myself to stay strong, to persevere,
To carry the weight, no matter how hard it gets to deliver.
But some days, it's all too much, the burden's crushing might,
Leaves me wondering how long I can hold on before the darkness takes flight.

There were moments I yearned for a gentle touch,
A safe haven to unravel, to weep without a clutch.
To be seen in my weakness, and still be loved and adored,
But instead, I silenced my sobs, and kept moving forward, unexplored.

I'm not unbreakable, just resilient in my pain,
A quiet strength born from years of walking alone in the rain.
It wasn't by choice, but necessity that made me this way,
A life of hidden hurt, of isolation, day by day.

But deep down, a spark remains, a longing to be free,
To hear a gentle voice whisper, 'You don't have to carry this alone, you see.'
Maybe that day will dawn, maybe it won't, but still I'll rise,
Keep walking, breathing, and enduring, with tear-stained eyes.

For even in silence, we move forward, one step at a time,
Even in pain, we grow stronger, like a river that redefines.
And though unseen, we are still here, our hearts beating like a drum,
And one day, I'll stop just surviving, and learn to truly thrive, to be undone.
