A lovely story. I too have seen initials and words written on these trees and when I was young put my initials on them. But the message I took from this was beauty and memories are far better than killing and destruction,

Kim, I like the whole concept here....the thought that there's some mountain man Out there somewhere writing poems on trees....where they may or may not be seen ....so different than the ego centric attitude that contaminates many poems. You develop your thoughts well here. I like it.
