A great poem sir on the eternal love bonding between mother and son. mother is the gift of God or may be God is in the avatar of mother on earth. I read your Odissi version of this poem Ma Apni Mon earlier, as I saw Bengali and Odissi alphabets are totally same but my bad luck I could not understand the language or meaning properly. Many thanks for the translation. Remarkable work.

I lost my mother 40 years ago as a teen. I often miss her still and wonder what it would have been like to have a mother as I aged. I do sometimes feel her presence (She gave me the love of writing) and I look forward to the chance of seeing her again. Thank you for your beautiful poem, Kumarmani.

The poem is deeply affecting. My own mother died two years just shy of 93 years old, so my twin sister and I enjoyed her presence for a precious ling time. But your poem reveals the depth and persistence of your filial love and your poet's eye sees her presence everywhere in the world. That's what I take away from your poem: a ever living presence.
