Mother's Day 2020 Poem by narayana aghalaya

that during, lockdown
family is, main, support
to one and all known
mom as pivot we all dote
but her.script don't know who wrote

kitchen is busy
gas burner is off seldom
school kids are noisy
keeping, on.toes, lovely mom
in this.melee she keeps.calm

dad* is a stranger
kids find him like a beached whale
slumped on new lounger
seeking snacks on platter piled
when he shouts mother goes pale

mom bears all with smile
she knows this is a passing phase
till virus has guile
she holds fort with a brave face
to make sure Covid doesn't dare

if one is down sick
mom gets ready home fixes
with herbs, turmeric
and ginger which she mixes
and soon, cough in bud nixes

let kids and grown-ups
help mom during these stressed times
let her in peace sup
and rest.and sleep with no.strife
who else cares for us all life?

*this stanza is just for fun. Husbands are equally responsible and share much of the tension with their wives. It is a common perception that husbands are tyrants. That is not true!
