Mother's Poem by Gary James Smith

Mother's

Rating: 5.0

Mother's

Mother's wow! The wow of it
We take them oh so for granted
They multitask like little ants
As if they've even planned it
They have a daily itinerary
Laundry...cleaning.dishes
Catering to the many requests
To honor hubby's and children's wishes

We leave our homes behind
As off we go to work
Expecting their due diligence
To not one task to shirk
What a glad expectancy
When back from work we come
Everything as orderly as
When our day had first begun

All of our emotional baggage
They take that task on too
Trying to comfort us in our distress
This is just what good moms do
Depending on the size of family
Is the time slot designation
To deal in a most affectionate way
With every situation

They automatically become psychologist's
Except without the degree
And have to treat themselves as patients
Such are mother's duty
God sure made a special breed
He made them far above others
He knew the helpmate men would need
So of course He gave us mother's!

Mother's I don't envy you
You are a rare breed for sure
You have eyes for everything going on around you
Yet keep emotionally secure
God's called you to the highest task
That He's given to anyone else on earth
To watch over your family twenty four seven
Begining the day of their birth...

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
