I watched a video
Where an elephant calf
Had fallen in a ditch
And the mother-elephant
Was trying to pull it out.
The herd was waiting
For her at a distance
Mother was trying and trying
Even in utter distress of no hope.
Running around the ditch
Bending, standing
Pulling and pushing
She was expending
All her energy
To rescue her calf.
A crowd of nearby villagers
Had gathered there
And watched the struggle
Of a mother.
They saw in astonishment
How a mother's love turned into strength
How the pain could not daunt
A mother from a mountainous task
When her baby's life was at a risk
And how a mother became a God
Who ultimately rescued her calf
From the clutches of a seemingly deadly trap.
God gave a pot full of love to every mother so that she can shower it on her children. A heartwarming poem.5*****
Such a beautiful poem story of motherly love in the animal kingdom! I've seen incidents like that with mother racoons rescuing their babies on very delicate tree branches. I had prayed for both...and they survived. Thank God!
That is why Indians say, Mata, Pita, Guru, Daivam… Mother is the highest form of Godliness. God comes only fourth.5 *s, Bharati.

God has filled in the small heart of a mother a universe-full of love. We call it in Hindi 'GAAGAR MEI SAGAR BHARA HEI'
