I agree with Tom's opening statement: A SAD REALITY OF LIFE. Eventually the speaker of your poem knows the Truth but it is a bitter awareness she gains, not even bitter-sweet, just bitter. The man swiftly moves on, his emotions are too self-centered to feel regret or remorse. But the speaker will be acutely aware of the time she wasted on him, and the wound he caused will complicate her next amorous moves. There is an injustice here but no judge to rule on it, no compensation forthcoming. She will need a strong faith to recover, especially in herself.

A sad reality of life so well expressed. Often happens when it is too late. I wonder if love can ever be truly equal. If so, it would be magical indeed.

A sad poem, but reflecting life how it is sometimes. I hope you have recovered emotionally and can move on. Best wishes.
