The transition from picking flowers in the childhood to Captain of the Synchronized Team looking at his watch - reflects the soft loving emotions depicted in a lyrical language throughout the poem. This is a beautiful poem! There are so many lines which touch the heart - I compete with the sun...to beat the other one. The picture of the captain of the synchronized swimming team looking at his watch - is so realistic, yet so poetic! The poet has successfully expressed his feelings for his beloved, and how he relives those moments! Will look forward to read such lovely lines!
