Morning Sky Poem by Richard D Remler

Morning Sky

Rating: 5.0

.....

Once upon a holiday,
When the moon and stars were sleeping,
And the morning was enamored
With the time that it was keeping,

A tiny bud reached through the snow
And spied the bonny sky,
And overwhelmed with all it saw,
It breathed the softest sigh.

It stretched out arms so very green
The snow let out an, "Aaahhh, "
For it was something very rarely seen
By winter snow at all.

And it smiled shyly to this bud,
This stranger oh, so near-
And whispered "Salutations, "
In an echo soft and clear.

The bud felt the cool of the air
And loved the welcome it found there.
This cold was but another sign
There would soon be blossoms on the vine.

It stretched out gently moving arms
That caught the morning breeze,
And shared with it a winters kiss
That drifted through the barren trees

And lingered in the shadows, where
Tomorrow meets the morning sky-
Where gentle springtime quietly spied
The last of winter drifting by.

It sighed, ' life is so sweet and warm and true, '
As it drew a breath so springtime blue,
Winter's chill could not recall
The chill of winter time at all.

And somewhere Spring echoed a song
That warmed the riverbeds on high,
The tinybud burst forth in blooms
That showered in the morning sky.
