BUT, ABOUT THIS 'SALUTE' (''Morituri Salutamus'') , even if it's been widely represented and popularized by books and movies, it is questionable whether such a supposed ''gladiator salute'' was ever a customary sentence, since there is no evidence that this was common practice among gladiators.
