These people are only brave when the powers that be turns a blind eye and even then; they have to be in large numbers before they have the courage to act. We are having similar incidents here for about the same reasons! . Very well put across, Thank you my friend.
From what you have said, it becomes clear that activities of similar nature are not isolated cases or limited to a particular territory or country. This mentality has to be identified and transformed for peaceful resolution of disputes or problems. Thanks a lot.
This poem enlightens me about the annoying behaviour of some Indian people. Unacceptable in India, unacceptable in the U.S.
These are mostly the right wing people who have their own logic and take law into their hands quite often in utter disregard of the constitutional propriety. Thanks for your objective comments, Michael.
I am with Jasbir Di and Bri, my friend and Sir...we can not say this is a particular country's or land's problem... Crime or injustice are always hateful... Bur yet we have to rays our voice against it always.... Your poem does so taking this example and as an Indian you get hurted and we all are with you especially I am and merely being an indian too..... Well done... We appreciate yours...... Thanks.

A very thought provoking poem...thanks for sharing it on PH. I asked an old college friend of mine settled in US about murders of Indians in her place a few days ago. She brushed my question aside and said, This is nothing compared to the number of Indians being murdered by Indians in India!
No doubt about it. Even if we forget, for a moment, a number of 'sena's (private armies or vigilante groups) , we Indians have a short fuse. On the smallest of provocations, people become violent even to the extent of murdering someone. Road rage and mob lynching incidents have increased, religious intolerance is also on the rise. Reference to incidents of America is meant only to warn my fellow Indians to realise the seriousness of impact of their irresponsible or over-enthusiastic actions against innocent people. Thanks a lot.

i looked at your list/photos of PH friends. i'd say Wes Vogler is the least Indian of all of them. i've heard about the killing of Indians aka Native Americans long ago in the U.S., but, if you are talking about Asian Indians, i wasn't aware that THAT was going on in any exaggerated way. and if it does occur, what does it have to do with the 'mobsters in India'? - - - - - - - - - - - - jin·go·is·tic ˈˌjiNGɡōˈistik/ adjectivederogatory adjective: jingoistic characterized by extreme patriotism, especially in the form of aggressive or warlike foreign policy. .....hmm? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - i've heard of dictates; my wife has many for me to follow. but i'd not heard of diktats: diktat noun dik·tat \dik-ˈtät Definition of diktat 1 : a harsh settlement unilaterally imposed (as on a defeated nation) 2 : decree, order - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - yikes! favorite lines, in one way, so far: To unleash their muscle power Because they have no other power To fall back on, no other law than no law They kill at will and just vanish ................................. it's enough to make one stay locked at home in bed all day! and i really enjoyed the lines with all the -ing words. bri ;)

Then, there have been instances where Indians (from India) working in US have been roughed up and at least three of them have been killed after the change of guard in US Admin. These acts were apparently perpetrated by those North American hoodlums who didn't want any foreigners to usurp what they think was their due i.e. of Americans. Similarly, there are many in this country who brandish same kind of nationalistic fervor and/or a religious extremism aimed at inciting violence and create unrest in this country other than causing untold suffering to the innocent people. Thanks, once again.

When our leaders start to point out and stress our differences rather than trying to create harmony among different religions, cast and nationalities it becomes much more harder for people to restrain their emotions. It is always disturbing.

The atrocities committed on a daily basis in our land make us cringe in fear and shock us to paralysis! It is hard to believe that all these are happening in a land of great tolerance and religious harmony! When a few take law in their hands and think that they are above the average Indians, nothing can be done! 'All are equal but some are more equal'! A powerful write!
We are fortunate that in spite of all the intimidation from such anti-social elements with or without the backing of influential quarters in politics or otherwise, we are not short of people who always raise their voice against such atrocities and whose voice really matters. Rajnish ji, this is, indeed, a realistic poem that is pointer at the present day happenings of beastly impulses of man that leads to chilling cold blooded murders. How man has detieorated to this level is shocking. Whether a killing in India or America it all amounts to the muscle power of hatred and violence. To think India is a country where Ahimsa has been preached and practised by sages for generations. Truly, this is Kaliyug! A dynamic poem and an eye-opener for the society to reflect upon. The people whom you describe are despicable cowards who do not respect the law and other people. Nothing excuses what happened to Indians in the U. S., though, nor the killing of Moslems in a Christchurch mosque.
Yes, we have got to beware of all such elements. They have no place in a civilized world. and hence, should be isolated and dealt with sternly.
