2) Women need to confront the patriarchy and chauvinism squarely by building their life independent of men. It is equally important to inculcate such good character and attitude in every child, especially the girls. Of course
Good! Self reliance creates self respect. It still is a man's world. Men who look down upon women abound, who see them as just bodies. This attitude needs to change. I think, the change has to come from women, building self reliance.
3) Of course at home, boys need to be "taught" to respect girls as equal individuals. But, as long as the society around him thinks differently, he is bound to adopt this attitude which is ‘beneficial' to him.
It's a long journey, with lots of battle scars and this poem outlines that at the end of the road, you might not win anything other than self respect for yourself which is the point of the battle in the first place
