Monster Self Inflicted Poem by Dorsey Baker

Monster Self Inflicted

You have turned
yourself into
a monster
your eyes
bloodshot red
your teeth
are sharp enough
to saw someone into
pieces
your muscles
big and tight
strong enough
to lift a mountain
you take giant steps
you spit
bitterness
out of your mouth
you can
no longer think
your thoughts
have been taken away
you obey the commands
of your desire
you are a victim
of your selfishness
you have no self control
snap out of the trance
step out of the darkness!
