'Money talks' is a common expression, but always true. It is all too easy to spend money unwisely, 'burn holes through pockets'. Sure money earns interest and so it should, in people's savings accounts. The government can always print new money, which I heard Boris Johnson say the other night.

There should be one more stanza here that states how the incredible number of commercials constantly running on this site must provide poemhunter with quite a bit of money also. Poems keep the soul flowing, and cash keeps the world going.

Money. You don't know where it's been, but you put it where your mouth is. And it talks.... nice philosophical write. It is a beautiful poem on money having edifying fiction. Thanks for sharing.

As usual; people who have money tell the rest of us its not necessary but in the end money does go to the mouth usually to feed those who are the poorest, we don't have enough to invest and make more Not a good poem just a bunch of high flown platitudes but sometimes money can make a poor writer famous What make us rich is the love of others.4/10

A collection of cliches about money. Not even that extensive of a collection. And certainly a perversion of what Wallace Stevens was trying to convey. At least the last stanza is clever. Otherwise, I prefer what Pink Floyd had to say on the subject.
