It has taken thousands of years for a particular virus, SIV to get mutated to find the right host in the human body. It attacked all cells, couldn't have done much harm, but the CD4 cell respond to the mutated virus, which is called as 'HIV1', because this HIV1 reentered into the primitives and emerged as the HIV2.
