Master blaster Tendulkar, like archer Arjuna
On the battlefield of Kurukshetra, flashes his bat
Here and there stand Viru, Dhoni, Yuvi, Raina
Ashwin, Gambir, Zaheer, Manaf, baaji, and Virat;
Loud clapping and cheers with jai ho are heard far and near
India meet Pakistan is the news item on every scroll bar
Soon a chariot comes in with no visible figure
Entire team convenes in front of it for an exhortation
My dear team mates, it says, your collective vigour
In every department helped reach this semi-final session;
Fantastic fielding, fine length of bowling and wise batting-
India proved to be unbeatable even for the professional Aussies
Nevertheless, a psychological warfare unnecessarily is gripping
All of you; remember, you are on the cricket ground with no war of nerves,
Line behind me, I am known as CONFIDENCE, the real charioteer for winner
(An Acrostic Poem: First letter of each line spells out MOHALI SEMIFINAL.
Written at the time of Mohali semi-final match and published by TOI in 2011)
