Misunderstanding Poem by michael Smajda

Misunderstanding

Oh, I once had a girlfriend
Who said she really loved me.
We were together so long,
She wanted more, naturally.

She wanted on her finger
A ring that would clearly say,
From now on and forever,
Each other's love would not stray.

To pacify her wishes,
I told her this I would do.
I would show her such a ring
Befitting her charms, its true.

I blindfolded her, took her
To a ring worthy of view.
When she saw what I showed her,
She madly said we were through.

The ring that was before her
Not at all made her merry.
After all, how could she wear
The beautiful Ring of Kerry.
