sisters, brothers, friends
you and me
were roam-free kids
starting the morning runs
with our moms' sermon:
be kind, but be more kind
to the most unkind;
won't be forgotten in
tomorrow's beyond
and off we go
playing around the pond
stomping on muddy fields
weaving coconut leaves
into small mats you'd give me
i remember seeing letters
etched on bark of mango tree
on the sole of my slippers
and one's smile so naughty
maybe all of us here should
take the time to recall
our childhood innocent times
to overwhelm
jealousy, envy or
even defamation
for we don't have
forever on this good land
very nice poem. i love the third stanza
it gives me smile...little things that happened
still as fresh as sunshine...heheheheh...
carved heart on mango tree and
writing on slippers slippers...i remember that.
fourth one is lovely brotherly/sisterly
reminder...yes we should throwback
and piece our childhood and hopefully
pick those neat happy things to refresh
ourself...this we should.
thanks for sharing..you're
still so great and loving and
caring
