Christendom developed
a sense of missions
as European nations
began colonizing
the rest of the world.
Colonial Christendom
envisioned missions
as the process of
bringing nonWestern
heathen into
Christendom for
the purpose of
saving their souls
and ensuring for
them a place in Heaven.

I guess that was the intention but they failed dismally because they coveted the land the riches and the women. So we took up arms and kicked them out. The bible remains in most parts.
