The twentieth century
brought with it
the decolonization
of theglobal south,
the deconstruction
of modernity and
the Enlightenment
project, and the
need to reimagine
the nature of the
church in this new context.
In the gathering of
the International Missionary
Council at Willingen
began a conversation
about an idea that
came to be known
as missio dei
the mission of God.
