Susan, again, i thank you for your amazing comments...This write is actually about my mother...who i lost in 1972...i wasn't that old and it was the first of many heartbreaking losses that would follow...it really never gets any easier no matter how many years or how old we are. after so many years, and so many losses, sometimes, i still have trouble dealing with the hurt that never really leaves me. i find when the pain overwhelms - i take to my pen and paper- -somehow, it helps to let it all out! You are a truly wonderful and understanding human being...not to mention brilliant...You would have made a brilliant psychiatrist, Professor of Literature...or instructor in writing. with your tremendous scope of words and unique ability to use them- i find i enjoy reading your comments almost as much as reading your poetry. i know you have a degree - but believe that you were born with the ability to write brilliant poetry.

This poem speaks for so many people who have been left behind by their loved ones. Those still here must find a way to miss their loved ones while still leading a good and relatively happy life- -it's is a terrible tight rope to walk. You speak with authority and it hurts to think of your sorrow. Yes, we all have gone through it if we're of a certain age but that doesn't negate the pain another person goes through. A compassionate write, my dear Theo.
